Christopher West Wows at WCI's Rodzinka Night Live Online Event!

Every year we make a special effort to celebrate our Patron Saint and author of The Rule. This year, Providence would have it that our quarterly Rodzinka Night Live* landed on St. John Paul II's Feast Day, so of course we had a party!

Everyone was invited to this special Zoom call and we encouraged Leader Couples to join with their Married Couple Groups and log in together. What an amazing occasion it was! MCG's from the Midwest, both Coasts and even Australia joined in the celebration!

What a joy it was to see rooms full of MCGs all coming together to truly be a family of families! We played trivia together and were wowed by how much people knew about JPII (not to mention how competitive some people are!). We celebrated all the many people who make the WCI so great (you!). We honored our new Leader Couples who started MCGs in the last year, and bestowed several special awards.

• The Light of Poland Award was given to Amanda Griggs of Cedar Rapids, Iowa for her tireless work in spreading the good news of the Rule. 
• The Heart of Wojtyła award went to Eleanor and John Padlo for their generous donations throughout the year. 
• The WCI Angels were recognized for keeping the WCI moving forward with their monthly donations and 
• The Rodzinka Joy award was given to the Lafayette, Louisiana groups for having the most people in attendance!

As if the night wasn't exciting enough, the grand finale was our special guest: author and speaker Dr. Christopher West! 

How many of us are indebted to his hard work and dedication in bringing the work of St. John Paul II to us (especially the Theology of the Body)! Dr. West spoke to us about how the Theology of the Body changed his life and how his discovery of The Rule through Peter & Theresa's book brought him so much joy and how he is so excited to see the fruit of all these couples following the Rule!

We could not have been prouder of the members of the WCI (over 120!) who showed up to keep the Spark of Poland alive in the world! It truly was a night to remember and we can't help but think of how proud St. JPII must be that so many couples are following the Rule he wrote over 50 years ago!

*Rodzinka means "little family" in Polish and our quarterly Rodzinka Night Live is a Zoom meeting for all our Leader Couples to come together and share graces, learn more about what is happening in the WCI, and collaborate on best practices in our Married Couples Groups.
